New CVD Advocacy Toolkit now available
New CVD Advocacy Toolkit
launches today
|
The
World Heart Federation is delighted to launch a new resource for our member
community: CVD Advocacy
Toolkit: The Road to 2018.
The Toolkit is packed full of information, advocacy resources and practical
guidance for all members who wish to engage in the lead-up to the United
Nations High-Level Meeting on NCDs in 2018. This important meeting, commonly
abbreviated to ‘HLM 2018’, will be the third time that heads of state, prime
ministers, senior United Nations officials and civil society will meet to
tackle NCDs on the global stage.
For
the CVD community, the HLM 2018 presents an important opportunity. Through
energetic and sustained advocacy, we have the power to ensure that governments
and United Nations officials refocus their attention on heart-health, and
deliver on their existing commitments (including ’25by25’).
To
make the most of this opportunity, we invite all our members to use and explore
the Toolkit which contains information including:
• An
introduction to the HLM 2018
• Information about the latest global CVD targets
• Practical advice on how to advocate for CVD
• Key CVD advocacy opportunities and insights
• Helpful tools, websites and resources
Next month, the World Heart Federation will host a training Webinar,
which will explore how to use the Toolkit in more detail. We will send out
another mailing inviting you to attend. In the meantime, please contact advocacy@worldheart.org with any
questions or feedback on this resource.
