BHF - BACPR Celebrating Cardiac Rehabilitation Award: TOP THREE
And the final three are …
As you may have read in our Newsletters before, the BHF and BACPR have joined together to Celebrate Cardiac Rehab with prizes for service development to go to three rehab teams in the UK. We invited all CR teams on Cardiacrehabilitation.net to enter, and had 40 entries from innovative and comprehensive services. A panel of judges decided on the Top 10, a brochure of their achievements was distributed and the public invited to join with the judges on deciding who the final three teams would be.
We had a fantastic response to the public vote - 3,553 votes (2,158 votes via email and 1,395 via the phone lines). The team rankings from these votes were added to the team rankings of an eminent panel of 8 judges in order to decide the final three, who are (in no particular order):
Eastern and Coastal Kent Community Health NHS Trust
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
Sandwell and Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust
These teams (who will all win a prize) will give a short presentation about their team’s work at the BACPR conference (6-7th October in Brighton), where the judges will decide on the order of the final three, which will be announced at the Gala Dinner. Join us in Brighton for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the award.
We’d like to congratulate all of the teams in the Top 10; the judges found it very difficult to determine who should be in the final three. To share good practice, you can read about all of the teams in the award brochure.
The other Top 10 teams are:
County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust
Cwm Taf Health Board
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Newham Community Cardiac Team
NHS Ayrshire and Arran
NHS Fife
The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust
We’d also like to thank the judges who did such a sterling job.
We hope to see you in Brighton to Celebrate Cardiac Rehabilitation.
