BHF-BACPR Celebrating Cardiac Rehabilitation Award
Do you consider your cardiac rehabilitation programme to be innovative and comprehensive? Have you developed services that reach out to all of your potential patients? Have you audited the impact of your programme? If so, we would like to hear from you. The BHF and the BACPR want to celebrate cardiac rehabilitation by sharing good practice and finding excellent cardiac rehabilitation programmes. We want cardiac rehabilitation teams within the UK to tell us about their innovative comprehensive programmes. What does it involve? Just write into us describing your programme, and how it meets the needs of your community. On one side of A4, let us know: A little about your community, How you meet their needs (including how you overcame any barriers), How you audit your programme and what your results show. On the second side of A4 (next page in Word docs), please list all of your teams names and role. You must include contact details of the CR coordinator, who must have agreed to the submission, then send it to the address or email at the foot of this page by the 31st March 2011. What happens then? An expert panel will judge the submissions and decide on a short list of the Top 10 programmes. We will produce a brochure of their work which will be sent out to all of the cardiac rehabilitation programmes in the UK to share good practice. In addition we will organise press releases and produce posters promoting the shortlisted teams. We will invite the public through articles in local press and invitations to local heart support groups to vote for their team. We will invite all CR teams in the UK to vote for the team/programme that they think is the best of the top 10.We will also ask a panel of experts to rank the shortlisted Top 10 programmes. In the manner of Strictly the votes from the public and from the judges will be joined to find the three finalists for the award. What do the finalists get out of this? First prize = 2000 Two runner-up prizes of 500 Plus trophies for the three finalist programmes And free BACPR conference, Gala dinner, hotel and travel for 3 team members per finalist team
